Fall Movie Roundup

Last week I was graciously invited on The Uncommon Good show on Iowa Catholic Radio (heard on 1150 AM, 88.5 FM, and 94.5 FM) with Dr. Bud Marr and Bo Bonner to discuss the movies of Fall 2017.  For the convenience of my legions of fans, they have also graciously allowed me to post the entire hour-long show here on my feed.

We canvassed many of the movies of Fall 2017, including:  Blade Runner 2049, Thor, Justice League, Wonder and more. Listen so you can make an informed decision as to which to drop your hard-earned cash on (if any).

Enjoy, and then go watch some movies!

Catholic Movie Guy on Iowa Catholic Radio

Dear Listeners,

For a change of pace, I recently had the privilege of appearing on Bo Bonner and Dr. Bud Marr’s show on Iowa Catholic Radio, the Uncommon Good.  We discussed the public nature of art and why Christians need to make and imbibe quality art.

You can listen/download the podcast of the interview here.  And give them a follow/subscribe while you are at it!

Best of 2016 Podcast – Hell or High Water

Howdy, ya’ll.

This week we continue our Best of 2016 series with Hell or High Water, the 2016 western starring Jeff Bridges and Chris Pine.  It is definitely in my personal Top 5 for 2016.  Set in West Texas, I bring on my good friends Dr. Bud Marr and Professor Bo Bonnor of the UnCommon Good on Iowa Catholic Radio to discuss this engrossing picture.

Who was in the right in this movie?  Is there space in Catholicism for Robin Hood?  What makes a Western, a Western?  Did my wife like it?

Hope you enjoy!
